Museum of Indian Arts and Culture

This museum features exhibits that offer insight into the Native cultures all over the southwest. The museum’s collections make apparent the tremendous diversity among Native American art throughout the southwestern US, as well as the diversity of cultures, languages and history.
The Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian
This museum features art by current Native American artists, as well as historical examples. It’s been operating since the 1930s and, in addition to a variety of exhibits, there’s a museum shop on site. The Wheelwright is opening a jewelry wing soon; slated for June 2015. Admission to this museum is free.
Museum of Spanish Colonial Art
This museum focuses on the history of the Spanish Colonial period, including art, culture and traditions. It was founded in the 1920s. The museum has a very large collection. The Santa Fe Botanical Gardens offer a stunning environment to explore. There’s a shop located on the property. The venue can even be rented for events. There are guided tours offered every day and you don’t need to call ahead to participate.
